Coordinating Councils
Domestic and sexual violence are community concerns, and it will take a coordinated response to build a violence-free community. With this in mind, the Women’s Resource Center facilitates Coordinating Councils in each of the localities we serve – Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and Radford.
These Coordinating Councils meet monthly and provide a forum for professionals and others concerned with the issues of sexual and domestic violence to network, learn from one another, problem solve, and develop strategies to improve our community response to sexual and domestic violence.
It is a forum for professionals in the field to coordinate services. Included in the Coordinating Councils are representatives from law enforcement, Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Offices, Social Services, area universities, hospitals, schools, and other concerned individuals.
All meetings can be attended virtually via Zoom.
